[text] Waist Size and Obesity

Recent scientific research shows that carrying extra weight around the middle puts your health at greater risk than carrying extra weight around the hips or thighs.

For this reason it’s important to monitor waist size as it gives a better indication of abdominal fat than BMI alone. Keeping tabs on this will also help to identify if your patient is at risk of complications such as heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
